Where to Vote and When

Election Day is Tuesday and regular polling stations will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., but those who want to cast their ballots early have until Sunday to do so at any Suffolk County early voting site, including one in East Hampton and one in Southampton.

In East Hampton, the site is at Windmill Village on Accabonac Road. In Southampton it’s at 39 Tuckahoe Road on the Stony Brook Southampton campus. They will be open today and tomorrow from noon to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 to 6.

A list of regular polling places by election district can be found by clicking here. Polls will be open on Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

At the New York Press Association’s annual conference last week in Saratoga Springs, The Star’s newsletter also repeated in winning first place in the Best Newsletter category, capping a successful awards season for the paper.

A Short Parade That’s Become a Big Success

For the first Am O'Gansett Parade in 2009, the organizers jokingly promised Clydesdales, Macy's balloons, and floats. With good humor and an enthusiastic response from the community, the very short parade has been an annual event ever since.
