Two Schools, Two Superintendent Searches

Tue, 03/23/2021 - 13:02

Two local school districts, Bridgehampton and Sagaponack, are searching for candidates for the role of superintendent. Both have announced surveys to solicit feedback and direction from their families and communities.

At the Sagaponack School, Alan Van Cott is retiring after eight years as superintendent, effective June 30. "His experience as an educational leader has helped us to successfully navigate the hurdles involved in educating students during a pandemic," Cathy Hatgistavrou, the school board president, said in a statement. "During his time with us, Mr. Van Cott has worked with the faculty and staff to improve educational opportunities for our students and to increase the partnerships with our neighboring school districts."

Sagaponack School survey responses are due no later than March 26. It can be accessed via a link posted at sagaponackschool.com.

The Bridgehampton School is looking for a successor to Robert Hauser, who is in his 11th year with the district overall and served for eight years as its business administrator. His final day is also June 30. "Your assistance will provide valuable input," the district says on its survey page, which can be found through a link on its website, bridgehamptonschool.com. Survey responses are due Friday, April 2.
