It’s I-Tri’s Giving Season

Thu, 10/17/2024 - 13:06

I-Tri, the nonprofit empowerment program for adolescent girls, is looking to raise $350,000 by next Thursday, dubbed Giving Day.

Its seventh annual Ride and Wine cycling outing on Oct. 5 got things rolling. The 50 participants, who rode 34 and 13-mile routes from Amagansett, finishing with a lunch and wine tasting at Scoville Hall, raised $16,000 toward the goal and helped the organization kick off what it calls its Giving Season.

I-Tri, which operates in schools across Long Island, charges no fees for its programs, which culminate in a youth triathlon. Founded by Theresa Roden, the organization is in its 15th year and has more than 1,400 alumnae.

On Giving Day next Thursday, it will broadcast live from LTV in Wainscott from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., joined by current and past supporters. Donations to help it continue its work can be made at itrigirls.org.
