The state-owned Montauk Downs golf course, which had been open, closed, open, then closed again, reopened for play on Monday, having been so directed by Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo.

On Wednesday, the county announced that its golf courses would reopen as well, by reservation only. This means that most of Long Island's golf courses — public ones, private ones, and private clubs that allow the public to play, are open. Clubhouses remained closed.

Tennis clubs are hoping they'll be greenlighted soon. Claude Okin, the owner of the Sportime clubs, said in an email to members Wednesday that he thought tennis could be played safely.

Mark Fretto, the head pro at the Downs, said by email Wednesday that reservations can be made online and that the course is "open for walking only, no carts." Tee times for county courses can also be booked online by clicking here.
