An event that many dog owners look forward to all year, the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons Stroll to the Sea dog walk, will happen on Sunday (postponed a day due to rain) starting at the East Hampton Historical Society’s Mulford Farm at 9. This will be ARF’s 30th Stroll to the Sea, and the two-mile walk will go from the farm to Main Beach and back.
Afterward, at 11 a.m., dogs and their humans can take part in contests including for the best dog-companion look-alikes, Pooch Who Can Smooch, and Stupid Pet Tricks. There will be a photo booth, silent and chance auctions, and other activities for pets and people. The entry fee is $40 in advance for one person age 10 or over and their pet; children under 10 can take part for free with a registered adult. Day-of entry costs $50. Everyone registered will get a T-shirt with artwork by the designer Isaac Mizrahi, a tote bag, refreshments, and dog treats.
Advance registration is online at give.arfhamptons.org or in person at the ARF Thrift Shop in Sagaponack. Those interested can also set up a page or join a team to raise pledges; prizes will be awarded on Saturday to the top fund-raisers. The festivities wrap up at noon.
