‘Just Mercy’ Screening, Talk

Thu, 01/16/2020 - 09:52

Furthering their work to promote cultural understanding and dialogue about race and diversity, the Bridgehampton Child Care and Recreational Center and the Hayground School have teamed up to host a screening of the film “Just Mercy” on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Regal Cinema in East Hampton.

The film is based on a memoir that tells the story of Bryan Stevenson, a young attorney who made history with his battle for justice in the legal system. It stars Michael B. Jordan, Jamie Foxx, and Brie Larson.

Timed to align with Martin Luther King’s Birthday, which is Monday, the screening will be followed by a panel discussion about the issues raised in the film. The event is free, but ticket reservations can be made online at just_mercy_screening.eventbrite.com and are required by tomorrow.
