Holiday Cheer in Montauk

Thu, 12/10/2020 - 14:17

Business owners who plan to participate in Star Brite Montauk, a Montauk Chamber of Commerce contest for the best holiday decorations, have until Tuesday to enter. Awards are given out for best traditional decorations, best display of Montauk, best kids' display, and best display by a nonmember. The prizes are online or print advertising in The East Hampton Star, Montauk Life, Whalebone, the Montauk Sun, and On Montauk. Judging will take place at sundown on Wednesday, and the winners will be posted on the chamber's website the following day.

The Montauk Fire Department has placed its annual gift box on the green in front of the gazebo. New toys and games can be put in the box for local children in need of presents. Santa will be arriving by fire truck at the firehouse on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m., and children will receive a stocking full of candies and toys, to be handed out by his helpers. Because of Covid-19 there will be no sitting on his chair.

Deep History in Sag Harbor Headstones’ Restoration
