Montauk United will hold a town meeting with the current East Hampton Town Board members regarding the possible closing of East Hampton Airport and its ramifications for Montauk on Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Montauk Firehouse.

According to Montauk United, there would be a 13,500-plus increase in commercial aircraft takeoffs and landings including helicopters at Montauk Airport and a 35,000-plus increase in aircraft-related vehicle traffic on East Lake Drive, Main Street, and the Old and New Montauk Highways should the town close East Hampton Airport.

The meeting is open to the public.
