Registered voters who want to cast their ballots before Nov. 2 can do so starting Saturday, when early voting begins. Voters registered anywhere in Suffolk County can cast ballots at any of the county's 12 early voting sites through Oct. 31.

In East Hampton Town, the early voting site is Community Room 2 at Windmill Village at 219 Accabonac Road. A list of East Hampton candidates can be seen here.

In Southampton Town, the site is the Stony Brook Southampton campus gym at 70 Tuckahoe Road.

All sites will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Monday from 7 to 3, Tuesday from noon to 8, Wednesday and next Thursday from 8 to 4, and on Friday, Oct. 29, from noon to 8.

On Election Day, people must vote at their regular polling place, and polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Rowdy Hall (the House) Is on a Roll

Long before the name “Rowdy Hall” was adopted by a popular East Hampton Village bar and eatery (now in Amagansett), it was a boarding house: Mrs. Harry Hamlin’s Rowdy Hall. The building, now a single-family house, still stands at 111 Egypt Lane, although currently it’s floating, suspended six feet above a hole. When it’s lowered again, it will be on a new foundation.
