Out of This World Astronony Talk on Monday

Mon, 07/12/2021 - 14:17

The Hamptons Observatory has invited people to reach for the stars on Monday when it hosts a virtual evening with the accomplished amateur astronomer David H. Levy.

In a talk titled "A Nightwatchman’s Journey," based on his book by the same name, Dr. Levy discusses his celestial adventures and overcoming his battle with depression to achieve all that he has in the field of astronomy. Among his accomplishments: He has discovered 23 comets, written over three dozen books, and been awarded five honorary doctorates in science. Dr. Levy has also been featured on the Discovery and the Science Channels and received an Emmy for the documentary "Three Minutes to Impact."

The discussion, which is in collaboration with East End Libraries, will run from 7 to 8 p.m. Admission is free, but registration is required at cutchogue.librarycalendar.com/events/nightwatchmans-journey-evening-david-h-levy-zoom.
