I-Tri Ride and Wine Is Saturday

Wed, 09/15/2021 - 16:21
I-Tri's Ride and Wine event is back for 2021.

I-Tri's annual Hamptons Ride and Wine cycling event, with 10 and 30-mile routes, sets out on Saturday morning from the Channing Sculpture Garden next to the Channing Daughters Winery in Bridgehampton. Participants will finish their rides at the sculpture garden with a buffet lunch and curated wine tasting.

The ride, which benefits I-Tri's fitness and empowerment work with middle school girls here, is not competitive and is open to cyclists at all levels. The entry fee for either length is $175 and includes lunch, support on the routes, and a T-shirt. Those who don't ride can still partake in the lunch for the same fee. Organizers require proof of vaccination for all participants and attendees 12 and over. Registration can be done online at itri.org or on the day of the race at 1947 Scuttlehole Road.

Cyclists doing the longer route will set out promptly at 8:30 a.m., while those biking 10 miles will leave at 10. Lunch will be served at noon.

Deep History in Sag Harbor Headstones’ Restoration

While Captain Beebee’s headstone now sits pristine atop the hill next to the Old Whalers Church, the rest of the family’s six plots sit in disrepair. Recently, however, the museum received a $10,000 grant from the Robert David Lion Gardiner Foundation, which will allow for the restoration of the remaining headstones.
