Eager to cast your ballot in the Nov. 8 general election? Early voting begins on Saturday, Oct. 29, and runs through Sunday, Nov. 6, in New York State.

In East Hampton Town, the early voting site is the Windmill Village apartment complex at 219 Accabonac Road. In Southampton Town, early voting will take place in the Student Activities Center at Stony Brook University's Southampton campus, 39 Tuckahoe Road.

Voting hours are the same at both sites: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, Oct. 31; 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, and Wednesday, Nov. 2; noon to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 3, and Friday, Nov. 4; and again from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5, and Sunday, Nov. 6.

It is also still possible to vote by absentee ballot. Monday, Oct. 24, is the last day to postmark an application for an absentee ballot. They can be returned in-person by Nov. 7 to the Suffolk County Board of Elections, and for absentee ballots that need to be mailed, the last day to postmark them is Nov. 8, Election Day.

Because of the recent malware attack on Suffolk County's network of websites and online resources, the Board of Elections website is currently offline. Voters may instead find helpful information on the website of the League of Women Voters of the Hamptons, Shelter Island, and North Fork, online at lwvhsinf.org/voting.
