Cranberry Bog Hike Is Monday

The East Hampton Trails Preservation Society will host a cranberry picking hike in the Walking Dunes on Monday at 1 p.m. Participants will learn about the history and ecology of the Walking Dunes, and have been advised to take a plastic bag for any remaining cranberries in the bog.

Hikers have also been advised to wear warm, waterproof boots and gloves if it has rained recently. A surprise recipe will be disclosed at the end of the hike.

It’s 1657. An East Hampton woman has been taken into custody as allegations surrounding witchcraft and consorting with the devil have solidified. Village justices ask anyone who thinks they may have been a victim of the accused, Elizabeth Garlick, to report to Baker’s Ordinary.

Shelby Joyce, the daughter of Annie and Peter F. Joyce of Montauk, and John E. Curzake III, a son of Jeanne and John E. Curzake Jr. of Wakefield, R.I., were married on Oct. 10 on a small beach in Narragansett, R.I.
