Young adults have lots of fun opportunities coming up this week at the East Hampton Library.

The county-wide Battle of the Books, in which teams of students representing their hometown libraries face each other in a book trivia competition, will begin next week for kids in grades six to nine. On Thursday at 7, there will be a virtual informational meeting for kids who are interested in taking part. The practice sessions will be Thursday nights from 7 to 8 via Google Meet, starting next week, and the competition is on Aug. 13.

Teen trivia lovers can also have fun with an in-person Kahoot contest on Monday from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Participants must have a smartphone to take part. Snacks will be served and the winner will receive a Barnes and Noble gift card.

Also for young adults at the library, there will be an overnight party from Friday night at 7 into Saturday morning at 8.

Parental permission slips are due tonight by 7. On Wednesday, May 25, teens can make homemade buttons from 5 to 6 p.m.

Sign-up for these events is in person at the library, online via the events calendar at easthamptonlibrary.org, or by phone at 631-324-0222.
