Phoenix House Vigil for Overdose Deaths

Wed, 08/31/2022 - 09:54

Phoenix House, an alcohol and drug rehabilitation organization, will hold an afternoon of events at its East Hampton outpost on Wednesday to mark International Overdose Awareness day.

Last year, according to the group, almost 108,000 people died from overdoses in the United States, the most ever recorded in a single year.

The afternoon's activities at the Phoenix House location at 287 Spring-Fireplace Road will include a mural commemoration and luminary making from 2 to 3, an interactive discussion on community needs along with Narcan training from 3 to 4, and a candlelight vigil at 4 followed by a tour of the facility.

The events are open to anyone with interest.
