Party for Tumbleweed Tuesday

Mon, 09/05/2022 - 11:27

This week marks the "official" end of the summer season, and while it's kind of silly to think that the post-Labor Day East Hampton scene undergoes a wholesale sea change with nothing but traffic-free roadways, empty beaches, and no-reservation dining, a Tumbleweed Tuesday party on Main Beach promises a welcome breather for locals to unwind and take pause.

Hosted by the East Hampton Kiwanis Club and the East Hampton Village Foundation, the party will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday as sort of the capstone event of the summer-season Tuesdays at Main Beach beach series that featured live music.

The free Tumbleweed Tuesday event will feature music from the 1980s tribute band Rubix Kube and a tug-of-war between lifeguards and first responders from police and fire agencies — a battle whose winner will nab an engraved trophy donated by the Krupinski Foundation called the East Hampton Masters Cup of Land and Sea.
