Architects Talk Regional Planning

Wed, 11/15/2023 - 13:40

Regional planning at the nexus of client interests and local zoning laws will be the topic Thursday night when a panel of architects gets together at the John Jermain Memorial Library in Sag Harbor at 7.

The panel, moderated by Nilay Oza and Edgar Papazian, both members of the American Institute of Architects, will focus on "the architect's position in future-proofing our region while addressing some of the major concerns related to the built environment, including affordable housing and historic preservation," according to a release.

Taking part will be John Shaka, chairman of the village planning board; Denise Schoen, a real estate and zoning attorney; Daniel Weaver, a land surveyor; Erica Broberg Smith, an architect, and Paul DiLandro, an engineer.

A question-and-answer period will follow. Space is limited. Registration is at aiapeconic.org.
