Holiday Weekend Happenings in East Hampton

Thu, 12/07/2023 - 14:48

The Presbyterian Church will host Tea’s the Season, a holiday tea, on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. in the church session house. Entry costs $20 for adults, $10 for children 12 and under. The afternoon will include baked goods, crafts, a quilt raffle, and activities for children.

On Sunday, the church’s children’s pageant will take place during the 10 a.m. services, at which the Rev. Jonathan Rodriguez, a candidate for the church pastor post, will be the guest officiant. Mr. Rodriguez is the pastoral resident for communications and evangelism at Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church in New York City and serves as the pastor for youth and young adults and as the Protestant chaplain at Hunter College. Members of the congregation can meet him during an open house from 6 to 8 the night before.

To add a celebratory jingle to downtown shopping, the Greater East Hampton Chamber of Commerce has arranged for Brad Beyer to play seasonal tunes on the steps of London Jewelers from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday and again on Dec. 16.

Two concerts at the East Hampton Library this weekend will help to get people in the holiday spirit. Tomorrow evening from 6 to 7:30, Paige Patterson will present “Pure Joy,” a selection of holiday classics such as “White Christmas,” “Santa Baby,” and “Merry Christmas Baby” in a program that the library promises will be “musical therapy for your soul.” Then on Saturday, it’ll be the New York Vendettas and the Holiday Horns performing seasonal hits with a rockabilly and soul twist from 3 to 4:30 p.m
