A three-mile hike on Gerard Drive in Springs on Saturday organized by the East Hampton Trails Preservation Society and the East Hampton Historical Society will feature both the beauty and some of the history of Accabonac Harbor and Gardiner's Bay.

The walk will include a look at properties recently acquired through the Town of East Hampton's community preservation fund as well as some of the original houses on the route.

The meeting place is the first causeway parking area on the left on Gerard Drive off Springs-Fireplace Road. The leaders are Nick Bryan and Jeri Wellman, at 917-225-4145 or 917-453-7403. Participation costs $12, and is free for members of either society. Registration is required at easthamptonhistory.org/tours or by calling 631-324-6850, extension 3.

Really, really big.
