Attention drivers whose licenses expired and were renewed between March 1, 2020, and Aug. 31, 2021: If you self-certified the vision test required for renewal, but you have not yet submitted an updated vision test to the state, your driver's license was suspended on Dec. 31, 2023, according to a recent announcement from the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.

The good news for impacted drivers is that an updated vision test can be submitted online or by mail, using an online or hard-copy version of the MV-619 form.

Full details and instructions can be found online via the D.M.V. at this link.

The D.M.V. noted that for commercial license renewals, there is a different process, detailed at this link.
