There will be a dance party fund-raiser at Rosie's restaurant on Thursday, May 2, from 6 to 9 p.m. to support the East Hampton Education Foundation, which provides thousands of dollars in grants to local teachers each year.
Tickets cost $100 and can be bought online at eh-ef.org. There will also be door prizes and auction prizes, from which proceeds benefit students from Montauk to Sagaponack. Rosie's is at 195 Main Street in Amagansett.
This depiction of Hook Mill was hand-painted on a ceramic tile by Hamilton King sometime before 1950 at the request of Maude Sherwood Jewett, a fellow artist who founded the Tile Painters Club of East Hampton.
