Wed, 07/24/2024 - 15:16

At its E.A.T. in the Hidden Gardens fund-raiser on July 13, the Springs Food Pantry raised more than $100,000 for its work to feed those in need, with donations continuing to come in, a representative wrote this week. The evening, which honored John Slattery and his wife, Talia Balsam, both actors, for their support of the pantry, drew 275 people to the Corbett estate on Old Stone Highway.

The pantry has a weekly budget of over $20,000 with which it feeds 275 families a week, or approximately 1,100 people, with those numbers in- creasing as winter approaches. Distribution is every Wednesday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Springs Presbyterian Church. Online donations can be made at springsfoodpantry.org.
