Library Adventures Ahead

The Summer Tour booklets are available at each participating library in Suffolk.
Christine Sampson

Are you someone living in Suffolk County who enjoys reading? If so, there’s still time to join the Summer Library Tour, a program of the Suffolk Cooperative Library System running through Aug. 31. The goal is to visit as many libraries as possible, according to an announcement.

With tour booklet in hand, participants must search for a wooden artifact at each library visited. Once it is found, a library employee will mark the booklet with a unique stamp.

The program offers different benchmarks to hit based on the number of libraries toured, and this enters participants in raffle drawings to win prizes ranging from a Barnes & Noble gift card to a brand-new Nook tablet. Raffles will be drawn on Sept. 6.

Those who collect 25 stamps will receive a Summer Library Tour patch, of which only a limited number are available.
