Stephen L. Friedes, M.D., of East Hampton died of pancreatic cancer at the Kanas Center for Hospice Care in Quiogue early Tuesday morning. He was 67. Mr. Friedes was buried yesterday at New Montefiore Cemetery in West Babylon. An obituary will appear in a future issue.
The East Hampton Historical Society broke ground on a climate-controlled collections-storage center at the Mulford Farm last Thursday. It will unite the historical society’s 20,000 archival items — now stored at five separate sites — under one roof.
