A graveside service for Daniel King will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Green River Cemetery in Springs.

Mr. King, a bayman whose iconic flagship dory is displayed in front of the East Hampton Town Marine Museum, died on April 12, 2020, in North Carolina. He was 70 and had been in declining health.

A Springs resident for many years, he moved to Hampstead, N.C., in 2005. He is survived by two sons, Anthony King of Hampstead and Eric King of East Hampton, and by two granddaughters and a sister, Sandy Vorpahl of Amagansett. His parents, Virgil King and the former Marion Bennett, died before him.

Storm Leaves Pantigo Mill One Arm Short

One of the four windmill arms at the historic Pantigo Mill, behind the Home, Sweet Home Museum, fell off in Thursday's storm. It will be repaired, but it may take a while before a contractor with the specialized knowledge for a project like that can get to it.

Montauk Playhouse Work Will Be Done by June

Construction of the new aquatic and cultural spaces at the Montauk Playhouse Community Center is slated to be done by the end of June, according to Sarah Iudicone, president of the Montauk Playhouse Community Center Foundation. The date for the public opening, however, is still up in the air.
