Rhonda Winokur of Hampton Bays, an elementary school bus driver for the East Hampton School District for many years, died on Jan. 24. She was 65. The cause of death was not known.
Known as Rhonnie, Ms. Winokur also served as a lunch monitor at the school and was recognized by her colleagues this week for having a heart of gold and championing wellness. The school district will be organizing a celebration of her life in the spring.
The East Hampton Village Board saw renderings of a new $1.7-million playground for Herrick Park last week, which the village administrator said will be the subject of public hearings at the board’s meetings in November and December.
The weather was perfect on Oct. 10 when Sag Harbor Community Rowing’s fourth annual Poker Paddle, a fund-raiser for the construction of a dock that will be available for all to use, drew people of all ages to Sag Harbor Cove.
Nicolette Atlas Cardamone and William Angier Duke were married at Fireplace Farm on Oct. 10. The groom’s sister, Ellie Duke of Springs, officiated.
