Maureen Gaviola, formerly of Montauk, died at home in Pompano Beach, Fla., on Saturday. She was 68. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Yardley and Pino Funeral Home in East Hampton. A funeral Mass will be said on Monday at 11 a.m. at St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church in Montauk. An obituary will appear in a future issue.

Bloecker to Be Grand Marshal of Montauk Parade

Joe Bloecker, a member of the Montauk Friends of Erin for over 30 years and its president for 10, has been chosen to lead the group’s 2025 St. Patrick’s Day Parade as grand marshal. Mr. Bloecker’s “involvement with the club and his contributions to the Montauk community run deep,” the group said in its announcement.
