Feb. 13, 1993 - Jan. 13, 2024

Joshua Robert Kulp, an automotive mechanic in Port Jefferson Station who had attended East Hampton High School and Longwood High School, died on Saturday of complications of diabetes. He was 30.

Mr. Kulp played football in high school here and was active in the Boy Scouts when he was younger. He was a lifelong fan of hunting, fishing, boating, dirt-biking, and camping. He also enjoyed gaming, engineering, playing guitar, and metal music, and “was especially fond of setting up sound systems in vehicles,” his longtime girlfriend, Alexandra Anne Voripaieff, wrote.

Born in Southampton on Feb. 13, 1993, to Jason Patrick Kulp and the former Heidi Riscen, he grew up in East Hampton and later moved to Coram and then Port Jefferson Station. He was a member of the East Hampton American Legion.

In addition to his girlfriend, he is survived by a son, Logan Anthony Thompson Kulp, 11, of Coram. Also surviving are his father, who lives in Hampton Bays, and two brothers, Zackary Jay Kulp of Port Jefferson and Dylan James Kulp of East Hampton. His mother died in 2022.

Mr. Kulp was cremated. A wake is to be held at the Scott-Rothwell Funeral Home in Hampton Bays tomorrow from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral will be held at St. Rosalie Catholic Church in Hampton Bays, but a date and time had not been set as of Tuesday.
