East Hampton The Amagansett Hospitality Group, which is on Spring Close Highway in East Hampton, off the road and down a dirt path, was entered early on the morning of Oct. 10 and two Polaris Quad off-road vehicles, each valued at $5,000, plus a Redmax backpack leaf-blower valued at $750 and a yellow Stihl chainsaw worth $700, were stolen. Ryan Smith told police he will provide the serial numbers of the missing items. A white Apple iPhone 6 was stolen from the locker of a 14-year-old East Hampton High School student on Oct. 8. Police were unable to track the location of the missing phone, and advised the youth to contact AT&T, have the phone shut down, and get a new one through his insurance plan. Police went to a Boatsteerer’s Court residence in the early morning hours of Oct. 14, where a prowler had been reported. Favian Rios told them that two vehicles parked outside had been entered, with $100 in cash and a Fein hand tool stolen. The thief apparently arrived at the house via a Raleigh Marathon bicycle, but fled on foot when police arrived. The nearby woods and streets were searched to no avail. The bike was impounded. Last Thursday, a PSEG technician told the caretakers of a Skimhampton Road house that the electrical meter had been tampered with. Dulce and Jason Gutterman told police they thought the power had been shut off in April, but according to PSEG, the house was still receiving power. The utility company removed the meter. An Amagansett woman shopping at the East Hampton I.G.A. reportd her black wallet stolen from her shopping cart on Oct. 1. Teresa Collins said she had $600 and several credit cards in the wallet, as well as personal identification. She was able to cancel the cards before the thief could use them. East Hampton Village Police were sent to Railroad Avenue Saturday afternoon after receiving a report that a middle-aged man was screaming profanities at Latino men waiting at the train station. The man “was intoxicated and appeared to have a possible mental condition,” according to the log. He told police he was headed back to Mastic Beach, where he lives in a group home. When the train came in the men he had been yelling at boarded, and the drunken man got into a different car. A 1999 Dodge van was abandoned in the middle of North Main Street by Hook Mill Road on Friday. The owner, a Medford resident, was nowhere to be found. The van, which had an expired inspection sticker, was impounded. Montauk Police were called to Main Street at 6:15 a.m. on Sunday by a resident who lives near the Martine and Juan store. Tom McMorrow told police a store employee was using a leaf blower to clear leaves from in front of the store and pushing them across the street toward the St. Therese of Lisieux Catholic Church property. Police told the employee, identified only as Carlos, that under town code he had to wait until 7 before using the machine or risk a summons. The employee put the leaf blower away. Sag Harbor Lucas M. Cowart reported that the side mirrors on his vehicle, parked in the Cross Street lot, were vandalized overnight Sunday. Patricia Wise called police to the shopping cove at 78 Main Street on Oct. 14, reporting that a youth was skateboarding on private property. Police warned the teen he would face arrest for trespassing if he returned. Edwina Annicelli told police on Friday morning that a neighbor on Howard Street was using a surveillance camera to film people passing by on the sidewalk. She said she wanted the incident documented, and expressed concern because she has young children.
