He Drove Into the Bushes

A 56-year-old man was charged with driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor, on Dec. 23 after crashing a 1997 Ford van into bushes off Route 27 in Montauk near Ditch Plain Road.

According to East Hampton Town police, John L. Bogetti of Tuckahoe, N.Y., was making a turn when he drove off the road, onto a grassy shoulder, and into the bushes at about 7:10 p.m. He was held overnight for arraignment in East Hampton Town Justice Court, where Justice Lisa R. Rana released him on his own recognizance.

Clammer Found Dead in Three Mile Harbor

Police said that Edward Garbowski, 62, may have suffered a medical emergency while clamming on Friday.
