Spotted Riding Stolen Bike

A 40-year-old man who stole a teenager’s bicycle in Sag Harbor Village on Feb. 3 was arrested later that day after he was seen riding it in Noyac.     

Faber S. Kelly of Port Henry, N.Y., was charged with felony grand larceny after a family member had spotted the distinctive bike, a Specialized Fuse mountain bike valued at $1,500, and called South­ampton Town police. Village police had not received a report that the bike was missing at the time. It was taken from  in front of the 7-Eleven on Long Island Avenue.     Town police arrested Mr. Kelly and charged him additionally with third-degree criminal mischief, relating to a domestic incident that occurred on Feb. 2. Lt. Susan Ralph said he was also charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.     

Village police picked up Mr. Kelly at Southampton Town Justice Court on Feb. 4 and officially charged him with fourth-degree grand larceny. He was released with an appearance ticket to report to Sag Harbor Justice Court tomorrow.

A man caused a disturbance at the 7-Eleven in Montauk around 4 a.m. on Monday, an employee reported to police, saying that the man “partially ate” two Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches before putting them back on the counter and refusing to pay.
