Thu, 04/16/2020 - 10:24

A homeless man who stole a sport utility vehicle in New York City was found with the car in Wainscott on Friday night.

Matthias Love, 37, whose last known address was Virginia Beach, Va., was found inside the parked 2004 Honda CR-V in front of Rumrunner Home, a furniture store on Montauk Highway, at about 11:20. The CR-V had been reported stolen earlier that day, according to the New York Police Department.

Mr. Love was placed under arrest at 12:04 a.m. and charged with criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, a felony. The car was valued at $3,000. He was turned over to the N.Y.P.D. to answer charges for the theft.
