Sag Harbor police clocked Daniel Diaz of New York City doing 41 miles an hour in a 20 m.p.h. zone on Dec. 7, and presented him with a speeding ticket. Mr. Diaz, officers reported, then jumped out of his 2012 Mercedes-Benz GK3 “yelling and refusing to get back in his vehicle,” and deposited the ticket on the police car before driving away.

Police caught up with him, and charged him with a misdemeanor for “unlawfully disposing of the ticket” (which was subsequently mailed to his home address via certified mail). Mr. Diaz is due in Sag Harbor Justice Court on Dec. 23.
