Police Searching for Man Responsible for Assault

Local and county law enforcement agencies have put out a call to the public for help identifying a man they say assaulted a person in East Hampton on June 18.

According to Suffolk County and East Hampton Town police, the man is described as "a white or Hispanic male in his early 20s, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and 180 pounds," with "a distinct tattoo on his left forearm."

Police said the victim suffered serious physical injuries during the fight, which took place in the early morning hours on June 18 in the vicinity of Atwell Street near Muir Boulevard.

Town police detectives have asked anyone with knowledge of the incident to call 631-537-7575. Additionally, the Suffolk County Crime Stoppers agency offers a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest. Calls and messages will be kept anonymous and can be shared with Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS or via P3 Tips, a mobile app and website that can be found at P3Tips.com.
