Late last Thursday afternoon, Gayle Aaronson of Montauk, 59, was stopped in traffic on Montauk Highway near Amagansett just west of Abraham’s Path when her 2016 Honda S.U.V. was rear-ended by a blue “newer-style” Range Rover.
Ms. Aaronson got out and asked the man at the wheel to pull off the highway and onto the shoulder, but, she told police, he ignored her and drove away. She complained of a head injury, but declined medical attention.
A local woman was injured on Friday morning near the Mobil gas station in Amagansett after her car rolled away and knocked her down.
A man facing a misdemeanor drunken driving charge appears to have made things worse for himself.
East Hampton Town police and the Coast Guard are investigating the death of a man found unconscious Tuesday on a boat off the coast of Montauk Point.
Police said that Edward Garbowski, 62, may have suffered a medical emergency while clamming on Friday.
