A fight broke out at Liars’ Saloon in Montauk just after midnight on Sunday, leading to an arrest. Nicholas M. Travers, 27, of Smithtown allegedly punched another man in the face multiple times, even while he was unconscious, causing “substantial pain and swelling to his right eye requiring immediate medical attention and multiple stitches,” East Hampton Town police said. The fight began at around 12:25 a.m. Bouncers pointed out Mr. Travers to police as he was leaving the scene as a passenger in a vehicle. He was arrested at 1:35 a.m., and was charged with assault in the third degree and criminal mischief in the fourth degree, both misdemeanors. Police also said he damaged a wooden handrail leading to the front door of the West Lake Drive establishment. East Hampton Town Justice Steven Tekulsky released Mr. Travers on $250 bail later that morning following arraignment.Hector Gonzalez-Pardes of Riverhead, 19, was charged on May 20 with leaving the scene of an accident involving a personal injury, a misdemeanor, and driving without a license, a violation. According to police, at about 3:25 p.m. he was driving a Dodge Ram that turned from Floyd Street in East Hampton onto Springs-Fireplace Road, disregarding a one-way street sign and failing to yield to an oncoming car. The Ram collided with a 2016 Ford driven by Beatriz Lopez of Montauk, who was later treated at Stony Brook Southampton Hospital for back and shoulder pain.Mr. Gonzalez-Pades fled the scene, police said, without exchanging insurance information with Ms. Lopez or reporting the incident to police. However, a witness took down the plate number of the Dodge, which is owned by RJC Masonry & Tile Corp. of East Hampton. The driver was found in Sag Harbor later; police said he admitted to being at the wheel of the truck. He was arrested at 5:45 p.m., and was issued an appearance ticket after posting $250 bail. He is to appear in court on June 12.Brandon Baez, 19, of East Hampton, driving a 2005 yellow Mustang that police said had no plates and no registration, was pulled over Sunday at about 1:50 p.m. on Bull Path in East Hampton, near Stephen Hand’s Path. Asked for his information, he refused to give it, claiming he was a “sovereign citizen,” East Hampton Town Detective Sgt. Dan Toia said. Mr. Baez was charged with obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree, a misdemeanor, in addition to the vehicle and traffic violations. He was released on his own recognizance and will be arraigned on June 13.
