Three members of the East Hampton Town Police Department were recently promoted, and with their families and well-wishers in attendance participated in a swearing-in ceremony during the town board’s meeting last Thursday.
Chief Michael Sarlo introduced the officers. Sgt. Gregory Martin, he said, was promoted to lieutenant. Police Officers Bradley Hughes and Nicholas Lloyd were promoted to sergeant.
They are “three of our outstanding police officers,” the chief told the board. “These officers are extremely dedicated and professional. They go above and beyond for the community, for the department, for their fellow officers. We’re extremely proud to have them move up in rank to be part of our supervisory staff. They worked extremely hard and have earned their promotions.”
He thanked their families “for their tireless support,” noting that officers could not perform their duties without that support.
“I just want to congratulate these three fine officers who’ve worked extremely hard and will continue to work extremely hard for the safety of the community,” the chief said. “And I want to thank the town board’s continued support of the Police Department.”
