Chance to Bid on Significant Art Works in Benefit Auctions

Fri, 05/24/2019 - 13:16
The Watermill Center's summer benefit FADA: House of Madness will feature a performance by Kanye West.

Even those who can’t make it to two of the most anticipated summer parties will still have a chance to attend vicariously through their online auctions.

The Watermill Center’s dinner tickets at the $1,250 level are already sold out, With the announcement that Kanye West will perform at the FADA: House of Madness benefit on July 30, it is likely some of its higher levels will sell out shortly as well.

Saturday night’s LongHouse Reserve benefit Serious Moonlight tickets are also sold out at its lower levels, but dinner tickets can still be had at the $1,500 level and higher.

If those prices seem out of reach, both organizations are offering their on-site silent auctions of works by prominent artists and artisans online, until they close the night of their benefits.

Highlights of the LongHouse benefit auction include a Parisian photograph by Andre Kertesz, a screenprint by Richard Meier, a Cindy Sherman c-print, and many other artworks by artists both internationally and locally prominent as well as several trips and other experiences on Paddle8.

The Watermill Center is holding its auction on Artsy. It features work by Nan Goldin, Francesco Clemente, Annie Leibovitz, and Ilya and Emilia Kabokov, among others.
