Don’t think that summer is over just because Labor Day has past. Two South Fork organizations are counting on those who either are always up for a party or may have been hiding at home from the summer hordes to venture out again to celebrate late summer with them.

On Saturday in East Hampton, Jacques Peltier will host a garden party at his Fithian Lane house from 4 to 6 p.m. for the East Hampton Historical Farm Museum. The event will celebrate the organization's one-year anniversary and the arrival of Dr. Allison McGovern, who will begin searching the Selah Lester property in an effort to find the Dominy Mill foundation.

Wine and cheese will be served, and an auction of several items, including some historical pieces, will add to the fun.

The museum, at North Main and Cedar Streets, will sell tickets on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., or they can be purchased at the door at 7 Fithian Lane during the hours of the party. Admission is $50.

If you find yourself in Southampton on Saturday evening, the Southampton Historical Museum will hold its late-summer cocktail party from 5:30 to 7:30. This year, Southampton marks its 375th Anniversary, certainly something to celebrate.

Schmidt’s Market will provide hors d’oeuvres, and an open bar will offer libations. The party will benefit the museum’s educational programs. If you go, festive dress is encouraged. Tickets cost $75, or $60 for members, and can be purchased through the museum’s website.
