Fairs on the beach or across from the street made news this year. UNTITLED returned from its premiere last year with twice the size and space. East Hampton's Halsey Mckay gallery was there and Hilary Schaffner said the crowds were consistent as were sales. Many booths took their cue from the tropical sun and had a day-glo color palette. Others had a funky vibe, often inspired by music. Scope, just down the street, had a colossal bust of Andy Warhol by Kazuhiro Tsuji that everyone was talking about and live music outside at night, presented in partnership with VH1, including the indie darlings Tegan and Sarah on Friday night. At this year's iteration of Aqua at the Aqua Hotel may have lost some of its edge since its acquistion by Art Miami, but still had some fresh booth/rooms to get lost in. Hyperallergic hosted a party there on Friday night. A work by the Southampton artist Jeff Muhs had a red dot on it at the Lyons Weir penthouse suite. Mr. Muhs was also on view at CONTEXT, a sister fair next to Art Miami.
