A Few Last Looks at HIFF 2015

David Nugent and Alan Alda, who has a supporting role in "Bridge of Spies," discussed the film after the screening.

The 23rd Hamptons International Film Festival closed last night with the film "A Bridge of Spies," a Cold War-era drama directed by East Hampton's Steven Spielberg from a script by Joel and Ethan Coen. Tom Hanks plays a principled Everyman and Mark Rylance, his client, a just as principled Soviet spy.

Alan Alda, who has a house in Water Mill and plays Mr. Hanks's boss in the film, stayed after the screening to chat with David Nugent and the audience. He discussed Mr. Spielberg's calm and open demeanor on the set and how the fear and antipathy depicted in the film, set in 1960 and based on true events, have carried over into the present day.

It was the finale to a weekend of soon-to-be blockbusters, little films that could, post-screening chats, full conversations, and the usual round-robin of brunches, dinners, and after-parties. Here is a last look at a few more photos Morgan McGivern captured this weekend while out and about.
