The Hamptons International Film Festival announced its audience award winners on Tuesday. “La La Land,” directed by Damien Chazelle, was the favorite narrative feature. “I Am Not Your Negro,” directed by Raoul Peck, was judged the best documentary feature. “The White Helmets," directed by Orlando von Einsiedel, received the most votes for best short film.On Monday, the festival judges conferred their awards for the films in competition this year. They were “Glory” by Kirstina Grozeva and Peter Valchanov, for narrative feature, and “The Silence” for narrative short. “The Eagle Huntress” won the documentary feature competition, and “Irregulars” by Fabio Palmieri was named best short documentary.There were two honorable mentions from the judges. David Edelstein, Julie Goldstein, and John Krokidas named “The Divines” by Houda Benyamina as their honorable mention for narrative feature. Alexis Alexanian, Mariska Hargitay, and Jason Janego named “Those Who Jump,” directed by Estephan Wagner, Moritz Seibert, and Abou Bakar Sidibe, as their honorable mention.A full breakdown of award winners will be included in the Oct. 13 Star.
