"Free Solo," which was screened as part of Hamptons Doc Fest in December, won the best documentary feature film at the Academy Awards on Sunday night.

The film is about Alex Honnold, who climbs the face of El Capitan in Yosemite National Park without a rope. The directors of the film, Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai Vasarhelyi, are husband and wife. Mr. Chin is a professional climber, skier, and mountaineer and has led expeditions to all seven continents and documented many climbs.

When winning the audience award at the Hamptons Doc Fest, they said they were "thrilled to win an award in place that is so special to us."
