Get those swims in while you can — competitive Red Devil Swims, that is, of one-quarter, one-half, or one-mile distances on Saturday starting at 5:30 p.m. at Atlantic Avenue Beach in Amagansett. Ocean-certified lifeguards will be on duty.
East Hampton Ocean Rescue is the beneficiary, and registration can be done at ehvor.org. It costs $55 through midnight Friday; on the day of it'll be $60 in person.
Also of note: Red Devil, according to the website just mentioned, refers to "the red 'Speedo-type' bathing suit often associated with male lifeguards and the culture of lifeguarding" and so nicknamed.
