Fighting Chance of Sag Harbor, in collaboration with the American Cancer Society, has published an updated cancer resource guide that includes details about medical and wellness facilities and practitioners, emergency services “along with a sprinkling of information and practical advice to ease each patient along their journey,” according to a release from the organizations.

Fighting Chance has been operating on the East End for over 20 years, and has consistently assisted newly diagnosed cancer patients by offering services such as free oncology counseling and transportation.

This is not the first time Fighting Chance and the American Cancer Society have worked in tandem. The society helped Fighting Chance provide some patients with free overnight accommodations at its Hope Lodge in Manhattan while receiving treatment.

“What makes this guide so valuable is its regional focus,” Fighting Chance’s founder and chairman, Duncan Darrow, said in the joint press release. “And even more importantly, because our charity has worked in this community for over 20 years, we’re able to personalize most of the listings with a brief description.”

Copies of the resource guide will be distributed in The Southampton Press and Sag Harbor Express and can also be obtained be obtained by calling or emailing Fighting Chance’s Sag Harbor office at [email protected].
