Sophie Chahinian, founder of the Artist Profile Archive, and Robert Longo, an artist, filmmaker, and musician, were joined by 100 guests on May 21 for a traditional Armenian wedding ceremony followed by a reception and seated dinner at the Sunset Tower Hotel in Los Angeles.

The couple, who have a house in East Hampton's Northwest Woods, began dating in December 2017 after Ms. Chahinian interviewed Mr. Longo for the Artist Profile Archive, an archive of short documentaries on contemporary artists. Mr. Longo proposed in the backyard of their Palm Springs house in February.

Ms. Chahinian's mother, Mary Chahinian, lives in California. Her father was the late Leon Chahinian. Mr. Longo's parents are the late Samuel and Nellie Longo.

A documentary filmmaker and Los Angeles native, Ms. Chahinian earned a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Occidental College and a master's degree in contemporary art from Sotheby's Institute of Art in London.

Mr. Longo's work is represented in numerous major museums and private collections around the world, including the Museum of Modern Art in Manhattan, the Broad Museum in Los Angeles, the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris, and the Albertina in Vienna. He lives and works in East Hampton and New York City and is represented by Pace Gallery and Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac in London, Paris, Salzburg, and Seoul.

Their wedding celebration kicked off Friday, May 20, with cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres at Pace Gallery's new West Coast flagship location on South La Brea Avenue. An intimate ceremony took place the next day at Holy Cross Armenian Apostolic Cathedral in Montebello, which the bride's family has attended for over 40 years.

The bride wore a custom off-the-shoulder dress designed by the groom, and the groom wore a custom suit designed by a friend, Narciso Rodriguez.

The reception and dinner took place on the Sunset Tower Hotel's pool terrace, with toasts made by Richard Price and Lorraine Adams, John Kessler, Haig Chahinian, and Thatcher Carter.

‘Sensitive Areas’ No Longer Safe From ICE Raids?

One of the first executive orders of the new Trump administration rescinded Biden administration policies that forbid Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents from conducting raids in “sensitive areas” such as schools and places of worship.
