Stenerson and Kelly in the Garden

Wed, 07/10/2024 - 11:19

Lauralee Jo Kelly and Andrew George Stenerson of Amagansett were married on June 21, the summer solstice, in a private afternoon ceremony at the East Hampton Nature Trail, attended by the groom’s son, Zane Stenerson, daughter, Ruby Stenerson, and son-in-law, Vincent Wolf.

Former East Hampton Town Justice Lisa Rana officiated.

That evening, the couple exchanged rings (she got a traditional ring, he a rubber O-ring) in the cedar grove behind their house in Amagansett, with their friend Jonathan Garnett officiating. The groom’s daughter sang the Cure’s “Friday I’m in Love” a cappella, and the groom’s son, who was also his best man, recited a poem by Pablo Neruda.

The bride wore an Ulla Johnson dress and carried chamomile and yarrow from a friend’s garden. Bride and groom were both barefoot. A garden reception followed.

The bride is the daughter of Jane Kelly of Margate, Fla., and the late Richard Kelly. The groom’s parents, Kathleen Donovan and Sterling Stenerson, are both deceased.

Ms. Kelly, who will keep her name, graduated cum laude from Columbia University and is an energy healer and craniosacral therapist with a private practice in Amagansett. Mr. Stenerson graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Art and is a glassblower with a studio in Amagansett.

They met at Bay Kitchen Bar in Springs on Labor Day in 2014 and have been together ever since.
