Restaurant Week
Long Island Restaurant Week, a $29.95 prix fixe promotion, will continue through Sunday at participating restaurants, including 17 on the South Fork. The special is offered all night Thursday, Friday, and Sunday. On Saturday, it may only be available until 7. Almond in Bridgehampton will offer a four-course vegan dinner prepared by Jack Formica, the chef at Amber Waves Farm’s Market and Kitchen, all night on Monday. The menu features dishes such as sunflower tostada with corn and pickled wild radish, and turnips with wild onion, polenta, and sorrel. The cost is $49 per person, plus tax and gratuity. Wine Dinner
Fresno in East Hampton will hold a five-course dinner with Beaujolais wine pairings at 6 p.m. on Monday. The menu features dishes such as pan-roasted striped bass and coq au vin. The cost is $115 per person, including tax and gratuity.
The Bridgehampton Inn has dinner specials on Wednesdays and Thursdays. The menu for November features $12 small dishes such as roast cauliflower fritters with chipotle aioli, $18 medium dishes, including a quesadilla with apple, brie, and caramelized onions, and $24 large plates such as crispy duck confit with vegetable fried rice. Desserts are $8 and include warm chocolate bread pudding.
The East Hampton Wellness Foundation, which educates children and adults about healthy eating, will hold a plant-based potluck dinner and a cooking demonstration from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the home and careers room at East Hampton Middle School. Attendees are asked to take a dish that contains no animal products, plus a plate and utensils.
A class on baking holiday cookies and crackers will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Bridge Gardens in Bridgehampton. Rick Bogusch, the manager, will share his techniques and recipes. The cost is $10. Reservations are by visiting the Bridge Gardens website.
The Art of Eating in Bridgehampton has a special catering menu for Thanksgiving. The prepared dishes include turkey, ham, or beef filet entrees, plus stuffing, appetizers, soups and salads, side dishes, breads, and desserts. A brined and basted whole turkey is $12.95 a pound; cornbread dressing with sausage, pecan, and apple is $22 a quart, and buttermilk mashed potatoes are $17.95 a quart. Starters include steamed jumbo shrimp for $38 a dozen, and lobster salad for $85 a pound. Orders must be placed by Nov. 21 and picked up by 11:30 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day. Share the Harvest Farm will hold a chowder contest and fund-raiser from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday at the Springs Tavern. After purchasing a mug for $20, attendees can sample and vote for their favorite chowders prepared by home and professional chefs, including those from Smokin’ Wolf BBQ, Breadzilla, the Clubhouse, and Stuart’s Seafood. Proceeds will benefit the farm and the Springs Food Pantry. Tickets can be purchased at the door or on the farm’s website.
