If you show up hungry to these community gatherings on Sunday, chances are you'll leave happy — with stomachs full of pancakes or soup, and knowing you've helped your community.
The next Springs Fire Department breakfast, set for Sunday morning from 7 to 11, will benefit the Springs School's eighth-grade class. The menu offers a choice of eggs, pancakes, or French toast, plus sausage or bacon. Hash browns, juice, toast, and coffee or tea accompany all breakfasts. Tickets are $10 and can be bought in advance or at the door.
Project Most's annual Empty Bowls fund-raiser at the American Legion in Amagansett is also Sunday, from noon to 3 p.m. The organization promises "Local chefs! Delicious soups!" There will also be live music and raffles. Admission is $15 per person, $8 for children ages 5 to 13, and free for kids under 5, and includes unlimited soup samples. A take-out option is also available for $15 for one pint, two for $25. Tickets will be sold at the door. The event supports the after-school, weekend, and summertime care programs that Project Most offers to children of working parents. More details can be found online at projectmost.org.
