Five Propositions to Weigh

Also on the early voting and Nov. 2 ballot will be five propositions for voters to weigh in on.

The first would amend the state constitution to add rules about how district lines for state and congressional districts are established. It would freeze the number of state senators at 63, up from 50, and outline the appointment of two executive directors of the redistricting commission, who would need a simple majority vote without regard to their party affiliations.

Hahn Has Campaign Chest

Suffolk County Legislator Kara Hahn has announced that she raised more than $200,000 in the third quarter for her campaign for the Democratic Party’s nomination to represent New York’s First Congressional District.

Ms. Hahn’s fund-raising total “was overwhelmingly fueled by individual grassroots donors giving $100 or less,” according to a statement from her campaign, with a majority of contributions from donors living in the congressional district. She has now raised more than $450,000, according to the campaign.
